Welcome to Watauga Arts Education Programming!

We offer one-time workshops, drop-in classes, and classes that meet consecutively (courses). Instructors who teach recurring classes per semester rarely repeat the same class project, so you can build upon skills learned in previous courses rather than repeating the same projects over and over.

PRIVATE INSTRUCTION:
We do have instructors who teach privately. Please scroll past our classes to see our list of private instructors and contact them directly.

ACCESSIBILITY: "Arts 4 ALL!"
We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. To request accommodation or for inquiries about accessibility, don't hesitate to contact us at artsed@watauga-arts.org or call 828-264-1789.

PARTIAL AND FULL SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE:
WAC strives to make the Arts Accessible for ALL, regardless of means. Please fill out this form if you need partial or complete financial assistance for art classes.

Feedback

Fun learning environment. I learned a lot and was able to try something I would not have tried on my own. I am very interested in another mosaics class. Cindy was so informative, encouraging, and approachable. Also am interested in trying a class in something else after this good experience!

This class was so fun, creative and relaxing! Cindy Michaud, our wonderful instructor, created this environment and encouraged us to be bold and have fun with mosaics. I had never done mosaics before and I felt confident after Cindy’s instructions and left with a beautiful new mosaic project I could keep in my home. Cindy supplied everything for us and made it really easy. The fellow students were so nice, too. All in all an excellent experience. I cannot wait til my next class at Watauga Arts Council!

Pamela’s class was just what I was looking for to start exploring boro and Japanese art of slow stitching. She was very generous with her time and ideas and as an added bonus I think I made some new friends.

Thank you for offering the class. It was a very good experience and I am interested in more classes. The instructor was excellent.

Excellent class. Lindsay is an excellent teacher. She is very knowledgeable and makes learning fun. This creates a great classroom environment.

Theresa was a fabulous teacher. I would definitely take the class again and bring friends.

I really enjoyed the drumming class. Khalid is an amazing instructor, so patient and so very inspiring. I hope to continue to take more of his classes.

Learnt so much in just four class meetings. Linsey Carroll is an excellent teacher. Want to take more classes with her.

Excellent! Such an encouraging and relaxing class. She is wonderful!

This class was perfect for me. The skills and techniques were right at my level and pushed me forward. Pamela is not only knowledgeable and skilled, she’s encouraging and uplifting in a way that made me feel that I could achieve more than I would have pushed myself to do without her. I would take any class she teaches.
Thanks to WAC for making classes like this available.
