FIRST FRIDAY ART CRAWL INFORMATION:

The Downtown Boone Development Association and the Watauga Arts Council present the First Friday Art Crawl event series. First Friday Art Crawl is a monthly event celebrating art, culture, and community in Downtown Boone. Galleries, shops, and restaurants are encouraged to stay open past 5 pm to celebrate the arts, provide opportunities for local artists, attract art enthusiasts, and encourage residents and visitors alike to explore our Downtown arts sector.

To expand artist opportunities, artists registered with the Watauga Arts Council may vend in designated areas of Downtown Boone's streets to enhance the First Friday experience.

Anyone wanting to vend in Downtown Boone as part of the First Friday Art Crawl must register with WAC.

Registered Artists will be given a laminated sign confirming their status as First Friday vendors for the year. This sign will operate show you are part of our First Friday event, so you must bring it when you plan to vend.
Registration will be valid from January 1 through December 31. New signs will be issued with the new registration.
Artists will be asked to RSVP if they plan to vend so we can provide Downtown Boone with a list of names to expect on the streets.
For special events on First Friday, vendors must adhere to the registration guidelines provided by the organizers (for example, JUNE: Boonerang, OCTOBER: Buskers Fest, and DECEMBER: Festive on the first Friday).

Vending spaces will be limited to artistic expression only. Vending may start no earlier than 4 pm on the day of each Friday Art Crawl Event. Once an artist has registered, they may reserve space for the specific dates they intend to participate.

Artists are not guaranteed a space to vend, and no parking or special accomodations will be provided. Vendors will be given a copy of the Downtown Boone Ordinance and will still be required to adhere to the regulations listed in Sections 115.04, 115.05, and 115.08 of the Ordinance.
