Design & Paint a Barn Quilt

Students will draw and paint a barn quilt (using a sponge dabbing technique that provides smooth and brilliant results) on a light and durable 2x2 foot aluminum composite board
Students may choose a quilt design from a group of popular options provided by the instructor, or they may create their own design (drawn in advance of the workshop using a grid template provided by the instructor).
Workshop Day 1 includes preparing the work surface, drawing the grid pattern/barn quilt design on the board, and starting the taping and painting process. Workshop Day 2 allows ample open studio time to finish taping and painting. Students may take extra paint home if they do not finish their barn quilts or for touch-ups. The instructor provides many paint color options or the students may bring their own custom colors (be sure to purchase high quality outdoor paint such as Duramax).
All materials for a 2x2 barn quilt are included in the course fee (with the exception of any custom paint colors desired by the student).
- 3x3 barn quilt may be made with an upgrade fee of $25 (and dependent on the availability of 3x3 boards; contact the instructor prior to registration to inquire about availability).
